Why Senior Clergy Were Excluded From New Ranks

The Pastor of the Church has announced a decision to increase the number of Assistant Most Superior Evangelists within the senior clergy, a move made solely under his authority.

Following a prior announcement on May 11, 2024, where 11 clergy members were promoted to higher ranks, some Church members expressed dissatisfaction, alleging that several deserving key shepherds with unblemished records were overlooked.

On December 26, 2024, during a ceremony at Imeko, the Pastor anointed four individuals—Aladeseye, Adeyinka, Talon, and Olajide—to the esteemed rank of Assistant Most Superior Evangelist. Additionally, the Patron of CCC Ibara Cathedral, Ogunremi, was elevated to the rank of Venerable Superior Evangelist.

However, the exclusion of VSE Afi Kiki, the Shepherd of the CCC National Headquarters in Makoko, from the list of promotions has ignited further controversy. Church members have raised concerns about the lack of transparency, questioning why Kiki, widely regarded as deserving of recognition, was omitted from the new rankings. The Pastor has yet to provide an explanation for the decision, deepening debates over fairness within the Church’s leadership structure.

The issue has sparked discussions within the Church community, with calls for greater clarity and equity in future decisions regarding clergy promotions.
