VSE Obinyan Explains What Happened At CCC CALABAR PARISH 2 Church Lockdown
Following a full explanation offered by a notable shepherd working in Nigeria’s south-south region, the Calabar issue has entered a new phase. Based on the shepherd’s regular interactions with important church leaders, this clarification sheds light on the rising dissatisfaction at CCC Calabar Parish 2.
VSE Obinyan clarified that, contrary to our previous story, the parish was indeed locked, but only for less than five hours before reopening. He went on to say that one of the rejected shepherds, AVSE Omiunu Solomon, experienced substantial criticism from several parishioners, which led to his rejection.
Furthermore, the disturbance in the parish was aggravated by Oluso Saturday’s acts after he was transferred from CCC Kano 2 to CCC Calabar Parish 2 in Cross River a few years ago. Oluso Saturday’s refusal to leave the premises within the specified limit increased the chaos. VSE Obinyan also observed disruptive persons who had taken control of the parish premises and were openly consuming marijuana with little regard for the repercussions.
He went on to say that the new shepherd arrived in Cross River early on December 31, 2023. However, he only made it to CCC Calabar Parish 2 when the service was nearly over. At that point, the patron demonstrated his authoritarian tendencies by dismissing the new shepherd, alleging that the letter he carried was not from the pastor’s office. However, it was later determined that the letter was genuine.
This denial sparked a clash, forcing the community’s traditional authorities to order the parish’s immediate closure in order to maintain law and order. VSE Obinyan further claimed that the parish and community meetings were later continued in the community hall.
During this discussion, the patron committed to work within the next three months to return the parish to its original position. In addition, VSE Tosho Oshoffa addressed the enormous crowd in the community hall, which aided in the resolution. As a result, the traditional leaders agreed to reopen the parish for continuing service, and the parish hosted the 31st cross-over ceremony successfully.
