Rev. S.B.J Oshoffa, the first pastor, prophet, and founder of the church, is affectionately referred to as Papa. Born in 1909, he received his calling in September 1947. After leading the church for a remarkable and eventful spiritual period of thirty-eight years, he passed away in September 1985.
During his tenure, Rev. S.B.J. Oshoffa, surrounded by spiritual leaders, indicated through anointment and other spiritual happenings that a particular lieutenant would be his immediate successor. An intriguing incident occurred approximately forty years ago on the Porto Novo bar beach in the Republic of Benin.
While conversing with the top hierarchy of the church, Papa received a spiritual revelation that a “miraculous object” was hidden beneath their feet. The message conveyed was that whoever found it would attain greatness in the church, and the country where it was discovered would also experience greatness within the church worldwide.
A search ensued, involving eleven elders, including the Pastor Founder Rev. S.B.J Oshoffa himself, who used their hands and tools to dig the ground. At a certain moment, Pastor Founder Rev. S.B.J Oshoffa declared that the object was no longer there, indicating that someone had found it. It was revealed that the person who had the object was Leader Alexander Abiodun Bada, as he was known at the time.
He stepped forward to show Pastor Founder Rev. S.B.J Oshoffa what he had in his hand. The Pastor Founder, in awe, confirmed the object and offered a special prayer for God’s spiritual guidance for the fortunate young leader, A.A Bada. The miraculous object was subsequently brought to Nigeria and buried somewhere within the Church premises at Makoko, the national headquarters of CCC worldwide.
This incident holds great significance within the history and spiritual journey of the church, highlighting the divine guidance and succession within the leadership of the church.
