The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has recently acquired hectares of land in Imeko, under the Imeko-Afon Local Government in Ogun State. Following in the footsteps of the Celestial Church of Christ, the RCCG has decided to embark on a multi-billion-naira project in the town. This project will include the construction of a modern church auditorium, providing a space for worshippers to embrace the RCCG faith.
This exciting news has been confirmed by the Onimeko of Imeko, Oba Benjamen Oyeditan Olanite, who has granted approval for the sale of the land. The decision not only aims to elevate the town into a city but also encourages public investors to contribute to its economic growth.
The Redeemed Christian Church of God is already renowned for its world-class auditorium along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, as well as its private university located in Ede, off the Gbongan-Oshogbo Road in Osun State. However, the decision to relocate to the same area as the Celestial Church of Christ has raised some skepticism.
To expedite the utilization of the recently acquired property, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of RCCG, will officially unveil and bless the land on December 26, 2023, in Imeko. This event will take place just 24 hours after the conclusion of the Celestial Church of Christ Annual Convention.
The decision to grant permission to RCCG for investment in the town stems from several factors. One of the primary reasons is the delay in the development of the Celestial Church’s project and the lack of modern infrastructure in the town. In contrast, the RCCG has assured the town of a prompt response and a commitment to investment.
