Pepper Offering? Here’s Why I’d Accept It

If a pepper is brought for thanksgiving in the church, here’s why I would accept it and how I would handle the situation:

Firstly, I would accept the pepper and bless it like any other offering. Immediately after, it would be taken to a store outside the auditorium as a sign of its acceptance by God. This symbolizes our gratitude and acknowledgment of God’s provision.

God does not reject pepper! What God looks unfavorably upon is an offering given with a heart filled with malice, envy, hatred, pride, and sin. It is the intention and the state of the heart behind the offering, much like Cain’s offering from the Bible, that God rejects, not the substance itself.

Pepper, being a valuable spice and food item, holds significance. The only restriction we have in terms of food is against pork meat. If we reject a pepper offering, we risk displeasing God because we are not showing wisdom in recognizing His provision. God’s provision comes in various forms, and rejecting it due to rigid interpretations reflects a lack of understanding.

We must avoid hypocrisy and practice wisdom. Once pepper is offered during thanksgiving, bringing it into God’s presence is not sinful. After the thanksgiving is concluded, the pepper should be moved to an appropriate place, not left in the auditorium.

Pepper is commonly eaten during our harvests and events. It’s crucial to apply wisdom when dealing with matters like this. There are no spiritual injunctions or biblical verses that prohibit the use of pepper as an offering.

Let us have the grace to enjoy pepper in good health and old age throughout our lives, in Jesus’ name.
