Oyo State ADENA and Task Force Unite in Powerful Prayer for 2025 Pilgrimage

CCC Orisuniye Cathedral, Ologuneru, Ibadan, on Monday, 15 December 2025, hosted members of the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) Oyo State Sidesmen and Women (ADENA) alongside the CCC Task Force for a special prayer programme focused on the 2025 Imeko Christmas Convocation and Nigeria’s current security challenges.

The event, held at the cathedral’s auditorium on Kola Olaiya Street, Aba-Nla, Ologuneru, drew a large turnout of church security personnel and members. Intercessory prayers were offered for a hitch-free Imeko Christmas Convocation and for God’s intervention in the nation’s security situation. The programme, tagged Night of Wonders, also coincided with preparations for the parish’s second Adult Harvest celebration, titled Harvest of Wonders, scheduled for Sunday, 21 December 2025.

Speaking at the event, the programme facilitator, ace gospeller and media personality, C/E/B Nazarite Olamide Oluwanifise, described ADENA and the Task Force as custodians of law and order in the Celestial Church of Christ. He noted that beyond maintaining discipline, their responsibilities also include standing in prayer during challenging times in the church.

Two lectures featured during the programme. The first, titled Upholding and Maintaining CCC Dress Identity, was delivered by L/S/S/E/S Dorcas Sobowale of CCC Eleiyele Ayegbami Cathedral, Ibadan. She explained that although several white garment churches exist in Nigeria, the Celestial Church of Christ was divinely distinguished through the Sutana revealed to the church’s founder, Saint S.B.J. Oshoffa. She emphasized the need for members to adhere strictly to approved CCC dress patterns and called on church leadership to address deviations from the church’s established dress identity.

The second lecture, Church Gatekeeping in the Time of Nigeria’s Security Challenges, was presented by the Oyo State Coordinator of the CCC Task Force and Shepherd-in-Charge of CCC Oreofe Iwa Mimo Parish, Wire/Cable, Oga-Nla, Ibadan, VSE Officer Oyekunle Akinpelu. He noted that security challenges such as banditry, kidnapping, robbery, and attacks on Christians have become national concerns. He called for the training and retraining of church security personnel, increased security awareness among members, and the provision of safety tools such as CCTV cameras and scanning devices in CCC parishes. He also stressed the importance of having Task Force representation in every parish.

Officer Akinpelu, a retired Chief Superintendent of Police, clarified that Task Force members are not armed but are trained to maintain order and collaborate with law enforcement agencies when security threats arise. He also assured Celestians and intending pilgrims that adequate arrangements are being put in place by church authorities to ensure a smooth and hitch-free 2025 Imeko Christmas Convocation, tagged Ebenezer.

In his remarks, the Shepherd-in-Charge of CCC Manger of God Parish, New Unity, United Kingdom, and Secretary of the Council of Shepherds, UK Diocese, VSE Solomon Adeuya, commended the large turnout of ADENA and Task Force members. He suggested that a communiqué from the programme be forwarded to CCC leadership for further action.

The host shepherd and Shepherd-in-Charge of CCC Orisuniye Cathedral, VSE Dr. Kola Olaiya, expressed appreciation to the Oyo State ADENA and Task Force for their commitment to maintaining law and order within the church. He pledged continued support for future initiatives aimed at strengthening church security and discipline.

Several ADENA and Task Force leaders were in attendance, including Oyo State ADENA Coordinator C/E/B Ayo Olagoke, Chairman C/E/B George Bello, Ibadan Divisional Task Force Coordinator Officer Isaiah Ogunleye, Assistant Oyo State Task Force Coordinator Officer Afolabi Olaibi, Chairman of Evangelism Oyo State ADENA C/E/B Dr. David Oyewole Alao, Vice Chairman C/E/B Ibikunle Ibiyinka, Auditor C/E/B Sowemimo, and Secretary C/E/B Fesojaiye. The vote of thanks was delivered by Sup. Evang. Adetayo Yusuf, Leader-in-Charge of CCC Orisuniye Cathedral.

The programme concluded with renewed calls for vigilance, adherence to church standards, and sustained prayers for peace, security, and a successful Imeko Christmas Convocation.
