The name of the controversial CCC parish Land of Goshen under ‘shepherd’ Daniri is itself a prophetic warning to its own members, shepherd and non-members. It should be recalled that Egypt figuratively represents the sinful world.
Rev 11:
8 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.
The Hebrews were held in bondage and slavery in Egypt after they had earlier on got settled in the land of Goshen by Joseph as a temporary place of salvation while awaiting the complete, total and full deliverance from Egypt through Moses by God (Gen 45:10). Thus, a man can enter into ‘Goshen’ innocently and end up in bondage and slavery of the sinful world. This is because, Goshen is part of Egypt.
The ultimate is to get out of Egyt completely! God had to punish Egypt and Pharoah (with Goshen not affected) with 10 plagues before Pharaoh allowed the children of Isreal to go.
In the salvation experience, transformation could be incomplete, partial and not total at some point. It’s like quarantining a virus on a computer system. The virus (sin) is still on the system but has been put under temporary inactiveness by the antivirus.
An individual who is in such state (quarantine) should not be appointed as a minister of God (shepherd, apostle, prophet, teacher, evangelist). Unfortunately, things have gone bad. Money has become a determinant. Paul warned Timothy about this.
1Ti 5:22 Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men’s sins: keep thyself pure.
There are still many (including clergymen) who still have the world living in them but they simply cover up with the word through the words of the mouth and religious activities. Whereas, their hearts are far away from God,
Mat 15:8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
Some individuals stylishly live the world inside their hearts but paint their outside with the word to deceive their fellow men (through gifts and talents). They are yet to receive full and total transformation of their heart and soul.
Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
2Co 11:13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
2Co 11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
2Co 11:15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. You can’t put the wine of Zazuu and Pasoma (old wine) inside a new bottle (born again).
Mat 9:17 Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.
The shepherd of the parish in question and his members are definitely still struggling with the world system. They are like a Goshen in Egypt which is awaiting a Moses from God for complete deliverance.
Unfortunately, some do not understand this and there will be an aftermath effect of this ignorance. Some other shepherds and parishioners who are still of the world will come out boldly to do something similar or even worse. This will be a test of faith of where people actually belong.
As ministers of God, we should endeavour to orientate our flock and youths (especially) that bringing in secular artists to sing in a church programme isn’t appropriate.
Goshen itself means *drawing near’*. The ultimate is not to draw near God, but to be in God. God in us, the hope of glory and we in God.
Joh 14:20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
Through the birth of Jesus, we experienced Immanuel = God with us. But with Jesus as the Christ, we experience God in us.
To shepherd Dabiri: you can’t draw sinners near to God with Portable and Pasuma. This is because they themselves are not ministers of Christ. You need to begin to rethink if you are truely running a GOSHEN or a GO-SIN. Your own transformation in Christ is also questionable judging by your fruits.
