The Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) community is in deep distress following the abduction of Brother Abiodun Ayantunji Shedrack, a beloved member and son of clergy, who was kidnapped while traveling for work along the Auchi/Akure Road.
Brother Shedrack, an interior furniture maker, is the son of Assistant Venerable Superior Evangelist (AVSE) Ayantunji Samuel, the Assistant Shepherd-in-Charge of CCC Ikorodu Parish 1, Lagos. He was abducted on Saturday, August 23, 2025, in an incident that shocked many after a disturbing video of the attack surfaced online, shared by social commentator Very Dark Man.
A Family in Crisis
The kidnappers contacted the family on Sunday night, demanding a ransom of ₦6 million for his release. So far, the family has only been able to gather ₦50,000. This financial challenge is even more painful because Shedrack’s father, AVSE Ayantunji Samuel, has recently battled serious health issues, including partial paralysis, which drained much of the family’s resources.
This has left the family in a desperate situation — struggling between raising the ransom and keeping faith in God’s intervention.
A Call for Prayers and Support
The parish leadership and the wider Celestial Church of Christ community are calling on all members, well-wishers, and Christians across the world to join hands in prayer and practical support. Contributions to support Brother Shedrack’s family can be sent to the following account:
Account Name: Ayantunji Omolara
Account Number: 3090291213
Bank: First Bank PLC
Every contribution, no matter how small, will go a long way in helping the family during this urgent crisis.
Church and Community Response
The family has been encouraged to reach out to the Pastor’s Office and the Shepherd’s Welfare Committee for official intervention. At the same time, the community is urging security agencies to step up rescue efforts, as the kidnappers have reportedly set a deadline of less than 72 hours.
Church leaders have also reminded members of the words of 1 John 3:17, which speak about showing love and compassion to those in need. They are calling for fervent prayers for Brother Shedrack’s safe and unconditional release.
United in Faith
The Celestial Church of Christ, Ikorodu Parish 1, and the global CCC family remain united in faith, trusting God for a divine breakthrough.
“We need Brother Shedrack alive and safe. We call on every Celestial, every Christian, and every person of goodwill to stand with us in prayer and support,” a parish representative said.
The situation is urgent, but the community holds on to hope, believing in the power of collective prayer and unity in Christ.
