One of the biggest problems facing the Celestial Church of Christ today is the leadership’s refusal to take responsibility. They don’t admit mistakes, welcome criticism, or correct wrong decisions.
Instead of being guided by spiritual principles, the Church leadership now acts like political parties—full of power struggles, injustice, and silencing of opposing voices.
If you speak up, you risk being labeled as rebellious. If you ask questions, you become a target. Many in the Church now believe that criticizing the Pastor, Rev. EMF Oshoffa, is the same as attacking the Church itself. This is not healthy. This is not spiritual leadership.
MSE David Bello is the latest person to face the consequences.
As Chairman of the Youth Development & Empowerment Committee, he raised concerns about how badly the March 2025 anointment event was organized. Many people got injured due to poor planning. Instead of listening to his concerns, the Church leadership removed him and announced it publicly, without any fair process, and without proving he did anything wrong.
All he did was share his honest thoughts in a WhatsApp group with the Pastor-in-Council. That was enough to get him removed. The message is loud and clear: If you disagree, you’re out.
This kind of leadership only creates fear. It kills trust. And it pushes sincere people away from service.
Even worse, the leadership structure itself has become questionable. The current Pastor-in-Council was inaugurated on 27 February 2021 for a two-year term, later extended by another two years. That extension ended in February 2025. Since then, no public statement has been made to announce a new term, yet the same Council still makes decisions like nothing had happened.
Bello’s removal wasn’t because he failed in his duties. It was because he dared to speak up. The Church’s spokesman confirmed this during a youth meeting on 31 May 2025 in Lagos.
During the same meeting, it was also revealed that AVSE Victor Uadiale is not actually the Church’s Youth Coordinator, as previously announced. He was only serving as Chairman of the Youth Development & Empowerment Committee under the PIC. This confusion adds to the growing mistrust around how decisions are made.
David Bello’s experience isn’t unique. It reflects a bigger problem: the Church punishes truth and rewards silence.
If telling the truth is seen as dangerous…
If loyalty is measured by silence…
If fear replaces faith…
Then something is deeply wrong.

I’ve seen the recent Church statement announcing AVSE Victor Uadiale as the new Youth Coordinator worldwide, supposedly replacing me. Let me be clear: I was never appointed Youth Coordinator worldwide. I never called myself that, not even once.
I served as Chairman of the Youth Development and Empowerment Committee. That’s the role I held, and it’s now over. I’ve been suspended from the Pastor-in-Council and removed as Chairman of the committee.
I want to thank the Youths of the Nigeria Region, the Francophone team, and our Diaspora team. Together, we tried to bring unity to young people in this Church. I was only a servant called to serve. The leadership has said my service is no longer needed.
I thank His Eminence Rev. EMF Oshoffa for the opportunity to serve. That message was passed to me by Sup. Ajala, who delivered the official notice.
I wish everyone well in their service to God and to this Church.
