EMF Issues Orders To Realize Imeko City Development Project

In a recent memo titled “The Journey Continues – Together, We Must Build Celestial City, Imeko, Into Our Own Jerusalem,” His Eminence Reverend E.M.F. Oshoffa, the Pastor and Spiritual Head of the Celestial Church of Christ Worldwide, has issued fresh directives to achieve the infrastructural development goals of the Celestial Holy City in Imeko, Ogun State.

The new directives aim to ensure significant progress in the Imeko City Development Project before the church’s Annual Convocation Programme in December 2024.

According to the memo, Reverend E.M.F. Oshoffa directed all Shepherds of the Celestial Church of Christ to contribute N5,000 per month ($2/€2/£1 per month for Shepherds in diaspora) towards the Imeko City Development project. Additionally, all members of the church are expected to make a monthly donation of N2,000 for the same cause.

Parishes of the Celestial Church of Christ have also been instructed to pay a levy of N5,000 towards the project from the Juvenile Harvest income. This amount is separate from the Juvenile Harvest Returns.

During Adult Harvest Thanksgiving celebrations, C.C.C. parishes worldwide and Shepherds, in collaboration with the Harvest Officiating Minister, are to set aside 15 minutes to raise collections for the Imeko City Development Project.

All funds collected will be remitted to the project account at Zenith Bank with the name “CCC P.I.C. Works and Projects Committee.”

Reverend E.M.F. Oshoffa emphasized that the late founder of the church, Saint Samuel Bilewu Joseph Oshoffa, had the desire to develop the Celestial Holy City, Imeko, into a pilgrimage site for Christians worldwide.

Considerable progress has already been made in the first phase of the Imeko City Development Project, including connecting the Imeko Basilica and its surroundings to the National Grid, constructing drainages, and installing solar-powered street lights.

The next phase aims to extend the Celestial Basilica by 50 meters on both sides to accommodate more congregants. It also includes the completion of landscape beautification and the tarred roads around the Basilica, under the “Say No to Dust in Imeko” beautification project, which is expected to be completed by December 2024.

Administrative Heads and Shepherds must provide proof of payment of the Imeko City Development Levy before their requests will be attended to at the Administrative Unit of the Pastor’s office.

The memo concludes with a call to reawaken the dream of the church’s founding father, Saint S.B.J. Oshoffa, and build our own Jerusalem.
