The leadership of the CCC Osogbo 1 Cathedral has issued a strong public warning over a series of false and misleading posts circulating on social media and other online platforms. The church says the content of these posts targets its leadership, especially its Shepherd, AMSE Firmin Akinbode Adjovi.
In a public notice signed by Church Secretary Hon. Evangelist Gbadamosi Oluwatobi and Parochial Chairman SVMSE Famadewa Segun, the Cathedral described the actions of bloggers, influencers, and individuals involved as “unwarranted, unverified,” and potentially damaging to the church’s reputation.
According to the statement, the Church’s leadership has reviewed the matter and resolved to take legal action against anyone—individuals, groups, or online influencers—who continue to spread defamatory and libelous content.
“The leadership of the Church has met on the issue and resolved to take decisive measures within the ambit of the law,” the statement read.
The Church also issued a public advisory, urging anyone interested in publishing or posting about the Church to physically visit the parish and verify facts before making any public statements. The aim, according to the Church, is to uphold truth, maintain unity, and preserve the spiritual integrity of the Celestial Church.
“This is to ensure that the truth is upheld and that peace and unity within the body of Christ is maintained,” the notice concluded.
The CCC Osogbo 1 Cathedral serves as the regional headquarters of the Celestial Church in Osogbo and is located at 24, Olorunsogo Street, Ayetoro, Osun State.
