Chicago, USA – The music scene of the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) has been revolutionized by the exceptional efforts of Superior Evangelist Rotimi Olaosebikan, the CCC Music Director Superior. In recognition of his dedication and achievements, the USA National Diocese recently presented him with an Excellence Award, honoring his significant impact on CCC music.
The prestigious award ceremony took place on May 26, 2024, at the CCC Great Oshoffa Cathedral in Chicago. The event was attended by VSE Balogun, the Head of the USA National Diocese, and other Diocese executives.
Superior Evangelist Olaosebikan expressed his surprise and gratitude upon receiving the award during the Diocese’s Music Convention. He commended the Diocese for organizing the convention, which aimed to discuss and chart a path forward for the improvement of CCC music. He pledged to diligently implement the resolutions reached at the convention across various Dioceses and ensure that the directives are relayed to the choir-masters of all parishes to strengthen the Gospel music philosophy within the Church.
VSE Balogun, Head of the USA National Diocese, emphasized his commitment to modernizing the ideals of the Church and moving away from outdated methods. He acknowledged the consistent dedication of Superior Evangelist Rotimi Olaosebikan, who has been diligently serving since the time of his predecessor, AVSE Adetiran. VSE Balogun also encouraged choir members to enhance their musical abilities by studying under the guidance of the current Director of Music, a senior lecturer with a PhD in Music, who also teaches at the Polytechnic of Ibadan, Nigeria.
A/V/S/E Benjamin Oshoffa, the Shepherd of CCC Great Oshoffa Cathedral in Chicago, further highlighted the significance of Gospel music as a means of communication with God, facilitating the recovery of lost grace, and establishing God’s kingdom. He commended the tireless efforts of Superior Evangelist Rotimi Olaosebikan the CCC Music Director, acknowledging his transformative impact on CCC music. The Shepherd affirmed that the Music Director is truly deserving of the Excellence Award for his outstanding performance.
