CCC Member’s Daughter Held Hostage By Lover In Ondo State

A young woman identified as Princess has reportedly been held hostage and assaulted by her boyfriend, Oluwasegun Oluwatobi Paul, a graduate of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, in an incident that occurred in Akure, Ondo State.

Princess and Paul had been in a relationship for more than two years. Both are members of the Celestial Church of Christ, Ifeoluwa Parish, Ekpoma, Edo State. Paul, who once served as Osise Oluwa in his former parish, was said to have relocated to Akure after graduation.

According to reports, Paul invited Princess to visit him in Akure. Before leaving Edo State, she informed her mother of the trip, provided Paul’s contact details, and shared the address of her destination. Her mother called Paul to confirm the arrangement and prayed for her safe travel.

While Princess was on her way, Paul reportedly instructed her to change her bus stop location. Upon arrival, she was taken to his residence, where he offered her a drink that she refused. Witnesses allege that Paul assaulted her and forced her to consume the drink. She was later bound, assaulted, and held captive.

It was gathered that Paul contacted some of Princess’ friends to demand ransom before eventually releasing her at an unfamiliar location. The case was reported to the police, and her family was advised to lodge a formal complaint at the nearest station in Akure, where the abduction took place.

The family later informed the Shepherd-in-Charge of CCC Ifeoluwa Parish, Ekpoma, Superior Evangelist Rufus Gbodi. However, the family accused the Shepherd of being indifferent to the case. Allegations also emerged that Paul had previously stolen money from the church before leaving Ekpoma, though there is no evidence Princess was aware of this.

The matter was escalated to the leadership of the Celestial Church of Christ in Ketu for further action. Both the Shepherd and the family of Princess were invited to make statements at Eguare Police Station, near the parish in Ekpoma.

Community members have been warned to be cautious of Paul Oluwasegun Oluwatobi, whose picture and voice recording have been circulated as part of efforts to raise awareness.

Police investigations into the matter are ongoing.
