Ibadan, Nigeria—A court in Ibadan has adjourned a legal dispute between Reverend Emmanuel Mobiyina Oshoffa (Rev. EMF) and Reverend Shonekan over leadership matters within the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) until October.
During the proceedings, the presiding judge raised concerns regarding the legitimacy of legal representation for the Registered Board of Trustees (BOT) of the church. Both the legal team representing Rev. EMF Oshoffa and that of the Registered BOT laid claim to representing the Celestial Church of Christ, creating confusion over who held the official mandate.
The judge emphasized that only the lawyer representing the original and duly registered BOT could speak on behalf of the church in this case. The court granted an extended adjournment to ensure fairness and clarity, providing ample time for both parties to resolve the representation issue and present legal evidence of the officially recognized BOT.
A key question now arises: Who are the rightful Registered BOT members of the CCC as recognized by the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC)?
As the case progresses, stakeholders and church members await further clarification on the leadership crisis, hoping for a resolution that will bring stability and unity to the Celestial Church of Christ.
