In the early years of the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC), there were a few names that truly stood out—men who gave their all to build the spiritual strength and identity of the church.
One of such men was the Late Rev. Gilbert Oluwatosin Jesse.
He was not just a shepherd; he was a voice of revival, a man deeply committed to evangelism. Known for his passionate preaching and spiritual fire, many in CCC remember him with love and respect.
His popular chant,
“Woo wo ki o to ye… Woo o o, wo Jesu Oba…”
still echoes in the memories of those who heard him minister.
Rev. Jesse rose to prominence during and after the era of CCC’s founder, Papa Oshoffa. He was a firm believer in the mission of the church and took his place as a revivalist without fear or compromise. He ministered with deep knowledge of the Word and was always quick to lift the hearts of people through exhortation and edifying teachings.
